This taster class will introduce you to using silver clay to make your own piece of jewellery that you will be able to take home at the end of the session.
No prior jewellery making experience is necessary, and all tools and materials will be provided within the session.
The class will last from 3 - 4 hours to allow you to develop and refine your design, dry your piece before kiln firing, and time to polish and finish at the end.
I provide tuition in small, friendly groups and you will be provided with refreshments throughout.
This class focuses on the basics of working with silver clay: to roll, shape, texture and cut to size. There are lots of stamps, cutters, texture mats, and moulds provided for you to create your own unique design.
I will be show you how best to handle to clay, explain how to fire using different methods, how to polish your fired piece, and finally attach findings to make your creation into something that can be worn.
Once the silver clay is fired your piece will be 999 Fine Silver.
Classes at Highfield Park Visitor Centre run from 1pm - 4pm (sometimes a little longer depending on drying time)
This is a lovely light, airy space with excellent facilities and free parking. Located to the south east side of St Albans with easy access to the A414, A1, M25, and M1. Set in beautiful park surroundings, with dedicated outside space should we be lucky with the weather.

Classes are suitable for ages 12+. However, under 16s must be accompanied by an adult. Please contact me before booking for any under 16s.
