Whether you’re a jewellery student, hobby jeweller, or an experienced maker developing your own designs, our studio provides access to a professional workspace without the cost or space required to create one at home.
Located at Foster Studios on Verulam Road, the studio is just a short walk from St Albans Cathedral, the Clock Tower, cafés, restaurants and both St Albans City and Abbey railway stations, making it easy to visit whether you’re local or travelling from London.

A welcoming jewellery studio designed for makers
Silver Daisy Studio has been created as a place where creativity, craftsmanship and connection come together.
The 70m² studio is bright, clean and air-conditioned, providing a comfortable environment where you can focus on your work. Alongside professional jewellery benches and equipment, you’ll find a large central work table, a private kitchenette and complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits to help make your time in the studio enjoyable as well as productive.
Whether you’re spending a couple of hours finishing a project or a full day developing new ideas, you’ll have everything you need to work comfortably.

The studio has been designed to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone.
Before using the studio independently, all bench hire users will complete a short induction covering studio procedures and safe use of equipment.
Bench hire is intended for makers who are able to work safely and independently. If you’d like support developing your skills before working alone, private tuition can be arranged.

If you’re just starting your jewellery-making journey, our beginner workshops are the perfect place to begin.
Silver Daisy offers a growing programme of jewellery-making workshops, including silver clay, stacking rings, sea glass jewellery and beginner silversmithing courses. These provide the skills and confidence needed before moving on to independent bench hire.
If you already have some experience but would like one-to-one guidance, private jewellery tuition can be tailored to your individual goals and projects.

Do I need jewellery-making experience?
Yes. Bench hire is intended for people who already have some jewellery-making or silversmithing experience and can work independently.
Is bench hire suitable for complete beginners?
Not usually. If you’re completely new to jewellery making, we’d recommend joining one of our beginner workshops or booking private tuition before moving on to independent bench hire.
What tools are included?
A Foredom pendant motor is provided at each workbench. Basic bench tools are also included with your hire. Access to specialist equipment may be available depending on your experience and the work you plan to undertake.
Do I need to bring my own materials?
In most cases, yes. You’ll normally need to bring your own precious metals, findings and consumables unless agreed in advance.
Can I use the soldering equipment or kiln?
Some specialist equipment is available by arrangement and may require previous experience, an induction or supervision.
